Asset Insights Panel
The Asset Insights Panel is VueOps' contextual intelligence feature. When you select any asset from the list, the Insights Panel opens on the right side, providing immediate access to everything you need to know about that asset — without navigating away from the assets list.
The panel displays the Asset ID at the top along with a "View In" button for BIM integration. Below that, seven icon tabs provide access to different categories of information.
Common Attributes Tab
The default view when you open the Insights Panel. Displays all key properties of the selected asset at a glance:
-
Asset ID and Drawing Tag
-
Discipline, Category, and Type
-
Full description
-
Operating Location (Building, Level, Room)
-
Model Number and Manufacturer
-
Operational Status
-
Classification
-
GUID and Object Type
-
BIM Model references (Model Name, Project Name)
This tab gives maintenance teams instant context about any asset without opening a separate detail page.

System & Relationship Tab
Shows how this asset connects to other assets and systems:
- Parent Asset - The parent asset in the hierarchy (e.g., a chiller plant containing individual chillers)
- System Connections - Which facility system this asset belongs to
-
Area Serving - The areas or zones this asset serves

Documents Tab
Provides direct access to all facility documents linked to this asset. This is one of VueOps's key differentiators — maintenance teams can access relevant drawings, manuals, and specifications directly from the asset context.
Sub-views (top navigation within Documents tab):
- Type - Filter documents by document type
- 2D - View 2D drawings (floor plans, schematics, piping diagrams)
- 3D - View 3D BIM model files
- Attachments - General file attachments
-
All - Show all documents regardless of type
Document Categories (filter buttons):
- Drawings - Construction drawings, flow diagrams, control plans, piping plans, power plans
- O&M Manuals - Operation and maintenance manuals for the equipment
- Specifications - Equipment specifications, technical data sheets (TDI)
-
Submittals - Shop drawings, product data submissions from contractors

The Documents tab showing linked facility documents with category filters (Drawings, O&M Manuals, Specification, Submittals) and document type sub-views.
Click any document to open or download it directly. This eliminates the need to search through a document management system — the relevant documents are always just one click away from the asset.
💡 TIP: The Documents tab surfaces documents that were linked to the asset during facility handover or commissioning. This means technicians always have access to the original construction drawings, equipment specifications, and O&M manuals right from the asset they're working on.
Related Tickets Tab
Shows all tickets (Work Orders, Warranties, Service Requests, Programs) that are linked to this asset. This gives you a complete maintenance history and current workload at a glance:
- View open work orders for this asset
- See historical completed work
- Check active warranty claims
-
Review service requests submitted for this asset
Use this tab to understand an asset's maintenance history before creating new work orders or to verify whether an issue has been reported before.
Vendors Tab
Displays vendor contacts associated with this asset:
- Manufacturer contacts
- Service provider information
-
Supplier details
Useful when you need to contact the vendor for warranty claims, parts ordering, or technical support.
Meters Tab
Shows all meters attached to this asset along with their current readings and time-series charts.
Each meter displays:
- Current reading value
- Unit of measurement
- Status (within range, warning, alarm)
-
Time-series graph of historical readings
The chart plots reading values over time with the configured low limit and high limit displayed as reference lines, making it easy to spot:
- Readings trending toward limits
- Spikes or anomalies
- Historical patterns (seasonal, load-dependent)
-
Deviations from target value
This tab enables condition-based maintenance — teams can monitor asset health through meter readings and schedule work before failures occur.
History Tab (Audit Log)
A complete chronological record of every change made to this asset:
- Timestamp - Exact date and time of the change
- Field changed - Which attribute was modified
- User - Who made the change
-
Values - Old value → New value

The History tab showing a complete audit log of all changes made to the asset, including who made each change, when, and what values were updated.
The audit log provides full traceability for compliance requirements and helps teams understand when and why asset information was updated.
