      Base Plans and Floor Plans

      Keep your FM Team on the same page by giving them the ability to layer information and manage changes to your facility over time.

      Use Base Plans and Floor Plans to layer and organize information on one floor for easy access and version control. 

      'Base Plan' refers to the floor plan drawing you select to be the place where you'll track changes. Generally, this is your architectural floor plan. However, multiple Floor Plans can be linked to a Location. For example, you might add a floor plan for different disciplines (Electrical, Mechanical, etc.) so you can track changes for each discipline .

      To view a Floor Plan or Base Plan:

      1. There are 2 ways to view Floor Plans and Base Plans in SiteLine.  Floor Plans and Base Plans are viewed in the SiteLine 2D Viewer.
        1. Locations Module - click on the 'View in 2d (Floor Plan) for a location
        2. Documents Module - click on the 'Floor Plans' button at the top right of the screen
      2. Once you are viewing a Floor Plan or Base Plan, you can navigate to any of the other Floor Plans by clicking on the 'Floor Plans' button near the top of the 2D Viewer toolbar on the right side of the screen. 

      To add a Base Plan or Floor Plan:

      1. Select the Location you'd like to add a Base Plan to. Base Plans can only be uploaded to a Floor or Building.
      2.  In the insights panel on the right side of the screen, click the Floor Plan tab.
      3. Click 'Add' and select a Base Plan drawing from your computer or mobile device files.  Note: If the document you'd like to add is in SiteLine, but not stored on your device, you'll first need to head to the Documents Module to download it.
      4. Click 'Open' and your upload will begin.

      Additional Information

      • The first Floor Plan you upload will be your Base Plan, by default. If you upload multiple Floor Plans, use the toggle to select which one will be your Base Plan. Your Base Plan is the one that will display whenever you select 'View in 2D' for that location.
      • SiteLine automatically generates a description for the Base Plan or Floor Plan.  Click on the edit button to change the description.

             

      • If you upload a new version of a Base Plan or Floor Plan (with the same filename as a previous version), SiteLine will track the version in the same way as the Documents Module. See: How are Revisions Managed in SiteLine?
      • You can view your Floor Plans in the Documents Module under the Directory filters.
