Assets

An asset in VueOps represents a physical piece of equipment, a system component, or a measurable entity within your facility. Assets are the foundation of maintenance management - every work order, program, procedure, and service request ultimately connects back to the assets they serve.

VueOps provides a comprehensive asset management system that goes beyond simple equipment tracking. Each asset is connected to its BIM model, linked to relevant documents (drawings, O&M manuals, specifications, submittals), and provides a full audit trail of every change. The Asset Insights Panel gives you instant access to all this context with a single click.

Object Types

VueOps supports four object types within the asset registry:

  • Asset - A physical piece of equipment in your facility (e.g., chillers, air handling units, pumps, generators). Assets are the primary objects you track, maintain, and monitor.

  • Component - A sub-part or sub-assembly of an asset. Components allow you to track major parts within a larger asset separately (e.g., a compressor within a chiller).

  • Part - A consumable or replaceable item associated with an asset (e.g., filters, belts, bearings). Parts are tracked for inventory and replacement scheduling.

  • Meter - A configurable monitoring entity attached to an asset. An asset may have multiple meters, each defining its own acceptable range configured at runtime. Meters capture readings over time to enable trend analysis and predictive maintenance.
