Introduction to Locations on VueOps

Locations in VueOps represent the physical spaces within your facility — buildings, floors, rooms, corridors, data halls, pump houses, and other defined areas. Locations form a spatial hierarchy that connects to assets, work orders, and documents, giving your team a clear map of where everything is.

The Locations module provides multiple ways to organize and view your facility's spatial structure, including by Floors, Spaces, Zones, Groups, and Location Type. Each location links to relevant documents, related tickets, and provides a full change history through the Insights Panel.

Location Hierarchy

Locations follow a hierarchical structure representing your facility's physical layout:

  • Building — The top-level facility (e.g., PowerCore Data Center)
  • Level/Floor — A floor within the building (e.g., LEVEL 1, ROOF)
  • Room/Space — Individual rooms, corridors, halls within a floor (e.g., STORAGE 406, DATA HALL 427, CORRIDOR EAST 429E, PUMP HOUSE 4 PH4)

This hierarchy allows you to navigate from the building level down to the specific room where an asset is located or where work needs to be performed.
